Its the end of the year 2008 and every single of us look forward to it. I'm in a youth group and every year we go carolling from house to house. However this year things have changed. Every year all the youths from my church community gather together to go carolling but this year it seems we aren't allowed to do that. A general example, if an individual is from the servers they are not allowed to join the youths for carolling. Hmmm.. weird huh, I always thought all this we were doing was meant for God and to make sure youths were to become strong pillars of the church. Though that was my assumption it looks like I'm wrong.
The objectives of these activities seem to be a way to gain popularity in church or so I feel. My question is does the more popular group under the church gain popularity from God or is it more for the sake of show and tell to the world; if so people would recognize those whom do more for the church and here I thought that being humble was what the church preached and we practiced.
Honestly what do either parties gain from this power struggle on going in my parish. All i know that eventhough we teens are considered childlish and immature watching these adults struggle for power is even worse. These people are suppose to be our role modals to us the future leaders and my oh my, what great examples are they.
Please remember thisisn't to point at anyone, I'm only blogging my thoughts. However seriously these actions need to seriously be taken into consideration because it doesn't only effects the community within the parish it also affects outsiders. So always remember that at the end of the day whatever that is done is for God and not us.
